janenew.jpg 195x205 Dr. Jane T. Owel received her DVM from Michigan State University. She began working at Mount Vernon Animal Hospital immediately after graduation and loved it so much she hasn't considered practicing elsewhere. In July of 2008 she celebrated 20 years at Mount Vernon Animal Hospital with a wonderful party!

Dr. Owel strives to improve the care of her patients at every opportunity. To this end, she is studying Traditional Chinese Medicine and Herbology for animals. She is also a second degree Reiki practitioner.

In her spare time, Dr. Owel enjoys the creative arts. She currently does fiber crafts and jewelry making, though there are few crafts she hasn't tried. She shares her home in Burke with her partner, Donna, and a passel of wonderful house cats they dote on.

myranew.jpg 179x170 Dr. Myra S. Miller received both her undergraduate and veterinary degree from Michigan State University. After completing her DVM in 1990, she moved to Northern Virginia to escape the snowy winters of Michigan. She joined Mount Vernon Animal Hospital in 1996.

Dr. Miller attended the Chi Institute for training in acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine. An avid reader and researcher, she is always striving to enhance her knowledge and improve the well-being of her patients. She is active in the dog community, participating in several dog sports and volunteer instructing obedience classes.

At her home in Alexandria, Dr. Miller enjoys water gardening and a myriad of household improvement projects with her husband, Paul. They currently share their home with two English Foxhounds, a Smooth Fox Terrier and a Manx cat.
